This political cartoon shows Cuban communist revolutionary, Fidel Castro, during the period 1959-1976. Now he is becoming very ill in current time and this shows two different perspectives on Fidel Castro as seen written on the letters.

This article contains a lot of information about when Fidel came into power and those involved. It talks about parties involved which is important to know when talking about the Cuban Revolution. Also, there are several videos within that are specific to what you want to know such as the Cuban Missile Crisis or general facts about Fidel and the Cuban Revolution.

This video is a documentary about Fidel Castro's survival and his journey into making Cuba what it is now. A lot of information about Fidel's history and the condition of Cuba during his rise to power.

  1. This political cartoon helped me understand the point of view of Castro's opposers because many people left Cuba for the fact that many did not like his ideologies. Many Cubans in the United States have so much hatred for Castro because he is a communist.
    The article helped me understand how Fidel Castro first came to power and the different obstacles he faced when rising to power. The article also gave me a brief explanation about the Cuban Missile Crisis because I had forgotten it was a significant event to Castro's rise to power. The article also mentions that Castro was a big contribution to the Cuban Revolution. The video also helped me understand the concept of communism because Castro envisioned Cuba being a certain way. This video really does a good job of talking about Castro's life growing up and how his family got wealthy off of sugar plants.
